As there are numerous jobs in football, many players have their own specialization. A team is divided into three groups: Offense (attack), defense (defense) and special teams. Here are some explanations about American football Offense:

- The offensive line consists of five players who are emerging to keep opponents and to make room for their own players who want to gain ground. The offensive line consists of a center, two guards, two offensive tackles and tight ends one or two.

- A quarterback: The playmaker, the quarterback is really the cornerstone of the team. He gets the most media attention, because it is the most important position. The quarterback is a player that is familiar to us. But why is it so important? First and foremost, the ball can throw a very accurate and powerful. He must be the “receivers” to find when they open, and throw the ball in a place where the defenders are not able to. If the defenders intercept the ball, the other team gets the ball, and has a chance of scoring. This sometimes happens because the quarterback does not have all the time the ball away simply because the defensive line, after one time around the offensive line hit on him and if it can achieve the gain; this is a sack and the ball placed at the point where his knee touches the ground. They go to the next down. The aim is obviously to score a touchdown with the ball to the receivers to get.

The quarterback may in fact be used as a running back. He can if he sees nobody open, even run with the ball and pick up yards themselves as much as possible, and to get first downs. This is done mainly young quarterbacks in the NFL, the NCAA also happens a lot. The quarterback gets the ball for the Center (part of the offensive line). This is called the snap.

- Running backs consist of a Fullback and halfback or tailback. The halfback is specialized in the run with the ball. These are small, fast but very strong to shake off defenders. The halfback may also like the Wide Receivers who catch the balls at him quarterback. The fullback is bigger and much stronger. It is usually his job to block the linebacker and stop so that the halfback can run along. This is also called “lead blocking ‘mentioned. He can also run with the ball and catch the ball, but he is far less specialized than in the back half because he is bigger, wider and stronger.

- Wide receivers are specialized in catching the ball a pass from the quarterback.

- Tight ends can both catch the ball when the opponent blocking
